Senior Cognos Business Intelligence Consultant
The successful candidate will have a passion for understanding and organizing data to provide meaningful information and to create and fulfill reporting requirements related to key business objectives.
Role Description:
You are expected to provide BI consulting services to clients in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. As a Senior Consultant you will provide guidance and mentorship to clients and less experienced developers. You are expected to take the lead in the design, implementation and support for client BI projects, working with Report Studio (Cognos 8) and other Cognos tools. You have excellent communication skills and a passion for projects that broaden your skills and knowledge in the dynamic area of BI reporting.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of Cognos development experience designing, developing and supporting reports, cubes and scorecards, including versions 7 and 8
- Strong Framework Manager skills and experience
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000/2005, MSIS, MSRS and/or Oracle Database technologies.
- Experience implementing data warehouse solutions with Cognos as the reporting application is essential
- Hands-on experience working through complex software migration projects from start to finish
- Ability to build strong client and peer relationships with working in a team environment
- Understanding of best practice report design and systems implementation methodologies
- Detail oriented with a passion for technical quality and client service excellence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in this client facing role
- This position requires frequent travel to serve clients
- Experience in an IT consulting environment is an asset

ETL Technical Architect
Requirements:
- Three years of relevant ETL tool experience with leading ETL tools such as Informatica, DecisionStream and Ascential (DataStage).
- Three years ETL development and architecture experience in the design and deployment of full lifecycle data warehouses.
- Strong data modeling skills (E/R and Star) and experience developing ETL standards and architecture.
- Knowledge of building data structures for analytical purposes used by an OLAP tool such as Brio, Cognos, and MicroStrategy.
- Experience developing mappings and workflows as well as PL/SQL code to support data integration.

Cognos Enterprise Planning Architect
Requirements:
- As a Planning Architect you will provide consulting to clients on their business financial planning, build applications through the use of Cognos Enterprise Planning (EP) software, and integrate these systems with reporting solutions.
- Strong knowledge in financial budgeting and planning
- Strong knowledge in application development and methodologies
- Experience building financial budgeting applications
- Experience in one or more of the following is mandatory: Cognos EP, MS Access DB, MS-SQL, VBA, Macro, SQL, Excel, Hyperion, or Adaytum.
